Job Description

The Rational Tools Administrator will:

• Provide leadership to software development groups for configuration and change management process and tools practices.
• Minimize process overhead by balancing the need of the organization with the needs of the individual when designing and implementing software development processes.
• Analyze build life cycle issues, and formulate and execute plans for improvement.
• Successfully design and deliver training through effective public speaking and interpersonal skills.

Daily Responsibilities

• Optimize process and performance of configuration and change management tools to accelerate development of quality software.
• Design and implement scalable configuration and change management processes for development groups ranging in size.
• Ensure business continuity by guaranteeing VOB and VOB backup integrity.
• Maintain ClearCase MultiSite continuity across multiple sites.
• Train users in configuration and change management processes and tools.
• Collaborate with IT, Team Leads, and Management to implement and maintain enterprise-wide software development processes.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation on all configuration and change management policies, procedures and customizations.
• Provide documentation and training for developers on all configuration and change management processes.
• Mentor users and configuration and change management admin backups.
• Evaluate and recommend tools and services as needed.
